Remote start for 2003 7.3

Can't take another winter without remote start on my EX!!

Anyone have any opinions/advice/suggestions regarding a remote start system for my EX??

Any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated!

I've been very happy with my Viper 160 xvl remote starter, i know it's been discontinued for some time now. It was the best $200 spent on my ride, I would purchase another Viper remote starter.
I added a link to the model i currently have installed .....btw it's diesel friendly ( heats the glow plugs for about 5-10 seconds before cranking)

I have a viper security system/remote start as well...when it works I have no complaints. Does what I want it to. Only thing that sucks is dealing with the remote. If the bat is low or it gets dropped you can't start the damn truck even with a key due to the kill switch in the system. Real nice on a cold day.

If you have or are interested in the Viper remote start, check out the iphone app for it, if you have the phone. Works great and you can use it to find your car, or lock/unlock/start from just about anywhere. My neighbor has on his Ex and I will be ordering in the next month. Viper may have the app for other smart phones as well.

Head over to Best Buy and purchase their Viper remote starter. It cost $220 installed. DO NOT let them convince you that a diesel delay relay is needed. Its simply a setting on the viper unit.

Keep in mind that they tend not to work great on diesel cold starts. You may want to ask for a full second crank time.

Last i checked, they were only for th4 iPhone. A magazine I read today hinted that the next os update would include the ability to operate on any smartphone platform. I am just for an app that would tell me what my gauge readings are when the son takes the truck out with friends.

I'm running a Avital brand. Turbo timer, remote start and glow plug timer, keyless entry, 2 two way remotes for 279. They sell them on eBay too
