So i did the Napa 6637 mod and instead of doing a 4" to 4" coupler i did a 4" from the filter to a 3" to the intake tube. will that lower my gains? mess anything up? etc? I just couldnt get the dang 4" coupler in there suggestions?
How did you get it to seal??? when I did the DIY on my f250 i had more trouble getting the 4" into the filter than I did in the intake....... is the intake tube on the excursion not the same as the one on the 250?
I managed to squeeze the flange of the 6637 filter into the end of my stock intake tube and still be able to tighten the stock clamp to secure and seal the tube and filter together.. I know the intake tubes ridges reduces flow but it works for me.. for now.
Shouldn't cause any problems - what did you use for
The coupler ? I just redid mine yesterday and had a piece of 4 inch exhaust left over from my exhaust install and getting it in the intake was easy but I had to work it into the filter. There is a write- up with flow rates somewhere on here and even at a 3" opening I believe you will still be 200% better flow than over stock
