New Ride: 2002 Limited 7.3 4x4

Alright - just picked up my new ride or let me say my wife's new daily driver. 2002 White Excursion Limited 4x4 with 7.3. This is the first diesel to be in the family. This thing is awesome! We drove it back about 450 miles and the console stated 18.2 mpg at 65-70mph. I was impressed to say the least. It is completely stock w/133k miles. So my first question is - I am looking at changing out the stock intake - NAPA mod or any other suggested brand? Other than cost any other major differences? I know I will stay away from K&N but any others that are good?

go with the 6637 imo , its relatively cheap and if you search on here there is a flow rate chart from stock up to the high dollar intakes so you can see exactly the difference your getting for your money.

So is the 6637 mod on the X as straight forward as it sounds? No issues with the intake fitting into the filter or anything? For those that have done it already? Also looking at exhausts - thoughts adn reviews on brands?

pretty straight forward , take out the old--all of it and install the new. need a 4" piece os exhaust or such to go from intake to filter and some clamps. Just did a silverline 4" turbo back with a 4"-5" tip for under three on mine. If budgets a concern find a shop to straight pipe it , if not then order a kit. If you live in an area where salt or chemical in the winter is an issue then spend the money on stainless.

any thoughts on exhaust systems without the drone? This is my daily driver. I know I need stainless - is the MBPR the ticket but leave the cat on?

Send a message via AIM to Raul@Stealth Automotive
you can get a cat test pipe for the exhaust and leave the muffler to cut down on the drone....
