Ripped my Rod Mount right off front differential case
Im not sure when or even remember hitting anything big enough to rip the mount in two. But i managed to do it and after looking at the mount itself, to my shock its not the thick material i expected to be. Anyways, the following day i noticed my steering acting weird. So after the revelation of seeing this mount completely ripped off the front differential housing later that day. I had a fabricator make up 2 pieces of 3/8 material and as you can see. Formed in the shaped of mount, so hopefully this 2 piece plate will make it strong enoug where it will never happen again. He Fab Welder guy assures me this fix he did, is now much stronger than it was at stock. Anyone else see anything like this on your 7.4 4x4 Excursion? Or am i the only one doing any 4x4 off-road with this beast ?
Here is the link to the pics i took of the before and after...
