V-10 GASSER question
I'm looking at a cheap Ex with a V-10 and read a comment from somebody that they have head bolt problems.
Is that guy thinking of 6.0L diesels, or are there issues with V-10s that I wasn't aware of? |

I think they would be cool with headers and a dual 3 inch exhaust with a cold air intake.
Might see 12mpg haha |

buddy just bought a v-10 f-350. He used to work at a shuttle bus company that has a very large fleet of v-10 equipped fords, and he knows they can go 375k miles + with minor issues.
so he bought that, and not a 6.0psd edit: v-10 mileage = the lose. |

They have exhaust bolt problems. The exhaust manifold studs break off and extracting the remnants can be a real PITA. The 5.4's have the same problems too.

I just bought an 01 excursion xlt 111k miles v10 clean for 8 grand, I love my modded 6.0 f250, but could not justify the extra 8-10 grand for a similar 7.3 truck. I drove it 400 miles home and got 15 mpg hand figured, and the lie-o-meter said 14.8, lifted or towing v-10s suck fuel, but as a family wagon the v-10 is good.
