Looking at Excursions
I'm thinking about trading in the F-350 CC on an excursion but don't know much about them except that they look badazz and have PSDs. What platform are they built on? Axles, trany, t-case? Any tips on what years to look at or stay away from, etc?
Thanks for the info. |

They're built on the SuperDuty platform. Same axles (10.5 & Dana 50), tranny (4r100), and t case (NP278) as the trucks. I think there was a year, 2001 perhaps, that has a mechanical diode in the tranny that is prone to failure. Other than that, I prefer the 2002 or early 2003 just because of the headlights and odometer (silly I know).
