rear lift gate window glass leak fix?

my rear lift gate window glass is leaking between the glass and the window frame...i tried tightening the nuts that pull the glass studs and the frame sandwich together, all that did was make the leak worse....
anyone ever have the glass out of the window frame? any pics or diagrams would be helpful...I will take it apart and hopefully i can just use some windshield sealant and put it all back together....let me know if you have ever had the glass out of your ex...

update: i was able to loosen all the nuts around the top and sides of the back glass. i did not completely remove the glass from the lift gate frame. i could see the thin bead of sealant was dry and cracked. I just squeezed some regular old black silicone in there around the top and sides and then let it sit for 10 minutes. Tightened down the nuts and put the trim back in. we have had tons of thuderstorms and it no longer leaks between the glass and the lift gate door frame. it was not that big of a deal.
