Help with codes and other misc. problems

ok so i have a 02 excursion with the 7.3 new to the ford's I have been a chevy guy until about 2 months ago when i picked up this one. Has 189k on it i put on a 4" exhaus, cold air intake, and the Banks 6 gun about a month ago to wake it up a little.

Took it on a trip to chicago last weekend and started out fine then gradually got worse. Acted like a fuel filter problem from past experance. Made it back to fl had the codes checked and they cam up with these

P0308 cyl. 8 misfire
P1211, P1247, P1209 all witht the definition of manof. control fuel air metering

changed the fuel fliter which was black and that seemed to help a little still running ruff at idle. we cleared the coades after that to see what ones came back and so far none.

in the morning it barely will run and you cant go anywhere until it fully warms up. acts like it running out of fuel and puffs out white smoke when you try to go anywhere. after warming up seems to run fine except for the ruff idle. This problem also seems to be effecting the tranny. it is having a hard time getting into overdrive.

was looking on here and there is some talk about upgrading the hpop? what is hpop?

turbo has been making a chhhewwwing noise between shifts from day one that a got it. been really bad since the latest problem with it. saw on here something about a ww or wicked wheel would take care of that. what is it and is that all it takes?

any help would be nice and thanks in advance!

7.3 newbie lol

What does your oil look like. Do you know when it was last changed? Or could be a bad/sticking injector. An Hpop is a High Pressure Oil Pump. It sends high pressure oil to your injectors to bump up the pressure.

thanks for the bump

we cleared the codes yesterday afternoon wanted to c what one poped back up. ran it all last night and this morning with no codes, still ran like crap. just started it up a few min ago and the check engine light came on. with the same code P1211 and then a P1247 pending. both fuel air metering? trying to stay away from the dealership. the one around here really sucks!!!

also when I am trying to cruise at 45 or 50 mph you can feel the power surging just enough for you to notice it.

From what I've been told this is the TC locking and unlocking at that speed. I just try to stay above or below that speed, and it's a non issue.

OIL?
Do you have good clean properly rated oil in it? The wrong oil will foam in the HPOP and not function the injectors fully. The HPOP sits under the fuel filter bole and boosts oil pressure to 3000psi or so then feeds it through a braded line to each head. This high pressure oil is used at the injector to hydraulically force the fuel into the cylinder when it fires. This is why proper oil is so important to a Powerstroke and oil system problems often show up as fuel system problems.

If oil is all set I would do a compression test, and injector buzz. It sounds like an injector to me but that is where I would start.
