Rear Door (gate) open sensors

Does anyone know where the rear gate open sensors are? My Excursion keeps saying door ajar after the rear gates are open. It will eventually clear but it very erratic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You need to clean the door latches, or gate latches. I use a rag wipe them down and then spray with wd-40 I usually have to do this about once a month. It is annoying yes but if you wash your truck more it won't happen as often. Maybe some one else will have a different approach.

Believe it or not you were right. It ended up being the right latch on the hatch. Looked clean but with a shot of old WD, light went right out. Thanks alot Bigcountry. By the way Love the site. Lots of good info.

I don't have an excurssion but this is a problem on alot of vehicles since they use the door latch as the switch for the door adjar light. As well as the dome light switch. I had the problem after having my truck for a few days took it back to the dealer and this is what they did. They didn't even do a work order or nothing tech came out with the blue and yellow can and a rag.
