EGT placement

Should an egt probe be placed in my downpipe or in the manifold?

I suggest the manifold as it gives you more accurate reading. Mine is tapped into the driverside exhaust manifold.

If you do put it in the manifold use grease to catch as much of the metal shavings as possible then use a shop vac and suck out the other metal shavings that are still in the exhaust manifold. That is how I did mine and it works great.
