Bump for this as I am having the same issue on my 2000 F-350.

As we have been trying to work out the O/D off light flashing and speedo and ABS light issues we replaced the VSS on the rear diff. Went to drive it and the truck dies, still gets the flashing light and truck shuts down right after that. Limped back to the house, let it set then went to start it later. No wait to start light. I found what I think is the fuse I need to replace. If it isnt the right one then I have others blown too. Here is the list of my issues, any chance they are all connected?

1. O/D off light flashes
2. Speedo intermittently fails
3. ABS light intermittently comes on
4. Truck shuts down after O/D off light does its thing
5. No wait to start light, engine rotates but wont fire

I think its pretty broad range of issues to say they are related but I guess anything is possible.

Mine did it today, but I think I provoked it. I have been having trouble with my TS chip, it won't switch sometimes and I have to restart to make it work. I started the truck tried the chip and it didn't work, I shut it down and restarted it right away and I guess it didn't like that. It blew fuse #30 under the dash, since that its been started about 10 times with out problem.

Thanks for this info!

Never Mind, this morning it did the same thing!!!! My guess is the fuel heater only works when the air temp is low? If this is true the low coolant and/or air temps this morning triggered the fuel heater and blew the fuse again. I unplugged the white connector on the fuel heater and it started fine!

So what do ya think, try to fix the fuel heater since it gets in the below zero temps here or leave it unplugged and do a fuel bowl delete?

Not to bring back from the dead. My truck is a 02' F250 7.3L auto. Only mod is the 5.6K mod. From the day I bought my truck, from a Ford dealer, it is one owner (carfax verified), and was always Ford serviced. My truck never had the ''wait to start'' lite. My freind has an identical truck but its an 01' cc lb 7.3l auto and his does. He bought his truck from Ford in 03' with 30k on it and his has the lite.

When I inquired during the test drive the salesman said he'd have a tech look at it. Shortly after we returned the tech diagnosed it and said the truck didnt have the light to begin with. I figured it was a blown lite bulb or fuse. It never bothered me, I count to 6 before I start the truck, with the key in the ''run'' position.

Do these trucks have glow plugs? Is the light for glow plugs or for as stated a fuel bowl heater? Thanks

The truck has the light but its obviously not working, I'm sure you GP's are working since your truck starts with out issue. Maybe someone else can chime in with more info as to why the light wont come on. Good luck.
