Turbo Failure.. Wth happened? (Pics)

I had a weird humming/howl noise coming out of my exhaust for sometime had no clue to what the issue was... So after 2 months of checkin this an that I checked the shaft again an this time there was enough play that made me decide there's something going on inside so I pulled it apart and this is what I found...

Trucks a early 99
K&N FIPK cold air

Suggestions on what I should do an do you think I should to take it to a machine shop to be checked/balanced? Will just a rebuild kit get me back on the road?

Tell me what I should do and or what you would do.. I plan to rebuild it myself but if you guys think I shouldn't let me know..

Thanks Josh

Some scratches around the edge of the wheel.

No signs of the wheel hitting Compressor housing anywhere..

Huge gash wth.....

What on earth could of got between the wheel and backplate? All 4 bolts were damn tight..

Exhaust plate or whatever.. Oil was deffinately getting threw.. Wasn't enough to make the truck smoke at all..

All gunked up!! Damn.. Why tho?

Nasty.. It's like chunky dirty burnt oil, that hole isn't perfectly round anymore..
Deffinately signs of excessive heat on back side of compressor wheel and where all that gunk build up is.. The exhaust wheel itself looks fine nothing has hit it or has it rubbed anywhere..

Ideas on what I should do or what you would do in my situation? Anyone wants to see anything else let me know!

I don't think that's a gash on the back of the wheel. It just looks like an ugly balancing job.

I'd say order the 360 rebuild kit and a wheel and have at er.
