Ford or Firestone?

I had my truck aligned at firestone the other day since I have the lifetime alignment package. I asked them to check the rotors to see if they are warped or not. The so called mechanic...I say that cause I'm not really sure he knows much about automotive stuff... he gave me the run out numbers of the rotors and said they were fine. When I asked him if the rotors are fine what else would make the truck shake, he looked at me with a blank face and said I don't know.

So I decided to call Ford and the guy said for $20 they would do a brake inspection and let me know. Ford says the rotors are warped and I need new tie rods and drag link and upper and lower ball joints. I wouldn't be surprised if this is true, but I had my truck in a Ford dealership in another state (at the beach) about 8 months ago and when they did a front end check, everything was fine. They also replaced the drivers side hub at that time. The Ford dealership at the beach was fantastic and I never had any problems with them or reasons to question the mechanic's ability. I guess it helps to actually talk to the mechanic and do a walk through of your truck too.

So who is right Ford or Firestone?

Also if I do need all that stuff replaced, what is the best brand for tie rods, drag link as I will be doing the work myself. I'm thinking of getting the Power Slot cryo rotors and Hawk pads.
