2002 problem starting

went out side to start my 02 f350 with 7.3 . tryed to start it and nothing .and the speedo went to 100 and the rpm gauge went all the way up as i was cranking it.weird. but it did take a jump. any ideas.why the gauges went crazy like that?

Time to have your batteries and altenator checked. You didnt have sufficient voltage or cranking speed to start the motor and since the batteries were low the cluster freaked out. Nothing major just have your charging system checked. Good chance your batteries are just getting weak...although you could have an altenator going too.....
