Radio and windows randomly quit working(dash cluster rebuild??)

I have a 2003 F250 7.3L 4x4. Randomly when driving along the radio will go out and I will lose power to the windows. Sometimes it will happen a couple times a day other times it wont happen for a week. Most of the time when the it happens it will come back on while driving in 5to15 min. But if I hit the dash above the steering wheel, it will usually come right back on.

After a little research I believe the dash cluster is the culprit. From what I have read there is some type of electrical issue in the cluster. The dash will need to be send out to a shop that repairs clusters. Is there anyone here that can verify this as the problem? If so where have you sent your dash cluster to be repaired? I would like to get this taken care of before my next trip in two weeks. thanks for any input
Mark

I cant believe that no one has had this issue and resolved it! From the topics I keep finding online it seems like a very common issue on the superdutys.

I have the same exact problem but have never dove in to repair it. So you say its the cluster? Funny thing is ever since i changed out my dash pad it hasn't happened again. Maybe connection to cluster needs to be cleaned? I dielectric greased all my plugs and the problem hasn't came back. Hope this helps.
