Exclamation Wacky ignition switch

I just rebuilt the tilt steer column in my 99 f250 sd 7.3. Everything worked flawlessly for about two weeks, then in run position the starter would spin over instead of turning the glow plugs(or bell) on. All of the alignment from lock cylinder is correct.
I can hold the ignition switch in my hand and manually put the rod in the run position and it starts trying to crank. I replaced the starter solenoid on the fender well, tried a new ignition switch. My guess was a short in the wiring, but it all looks fine.
Am I missing something besides the brake control sensor or the transmission range censor????
I'm stumped and need help.
Thanks,
Derrick
