Smile Instrument Panel is dead on my 1998 E-350

Instrument Panel is dead on my 1998 E-350. I have lights when I turn the ignition upon start-up but no speedo, fuel guage, oil pressure, water temp guages. I also do not have wipers. I have checked the fuses and all are good.

Can somebody help?

I am new to this forum but if it means anything I am a long-time member of flyertalk.com and would sure appreciate some hints form the diesel experts.

The motor is a 7.3L

Awaiting a miracle.

Dave

OK - I pulled the cluster out and I found a "short" on the the solder joint on the Printed Circuit Board (PSB)behind the Instrument Cluster. My next step is to either replace the PSB or the Instrument Cluster.

I have never done this before so I am wondering if I can get some advice.

1) If I grabbed an old Cluster and remove the PSB, would it have to be a Diesel Cluster?
2) If I were to replace the whole Cluster - How does one get the whole thing reprogrammed?
3) Ebay has a new one for $150. How do I reprogram it?

Help appreciated.
