Won't start

My 01 Excursion cranks but only starts if it feels the need too.I've changed cam sensor.What else should be checked?Hooked up the scanner no codes.Thanks for any help.

Do you get the WTS light?

Do the rpm's move when you're cranking?

Was the CPS the one of the old black ones, or a newer gray one?

Just a few questions to give the techs here a little more info. They'lll be around soon.

WTS=yes
RPM'S=yes
CPS was black replaced with gray.Truck started and ran a few times.
Had block heater pluged in over night,still no fire today.

Is there oil in the hpop reservoir? Drain the fuel bowl, turn the key on. Do you hear the fuel pump come on? Does the fuel bowl fill back up? Check all fuses.

Where is the HPOP reservoir? Truck wouldn't start at 2:00 just got home and it started

Checked fuses all seem to be fine.I don't have owners manual to tell what fuses are for.If truck starts again what should I look for on scanner? I have a snap-on solus scanner

Anybody have any suggestions for me to check? Sometimes she starts sometimes she doesn't.

Did you scan for codes?

The reservoir is what the black plastic piece on top of the engine mounts to. Is there fuel in the bowl? Do you hear the fuel pump come on and pressurize?

No codes show up.I didn't pull top off fuel bowl to check on fuel level but I just had truck running. Is the allen head plug for the reservoir level?

I believe it is an allen bolt.
