Thumbs up Yippy kyoh kyae

I hate to sound like a braggert, but the last time I posted a warranty win I felt I was attacked by nay sayers. I just recieved an e-mail today that says I won my judgement agains Ford for them replacing my PCM when the problem was the CPS and not warrantying the repair because I had mods. The BBB did this for free. Ford has them handle there disputes thru an independent arbitrator. All I can say is do your home work with good documentation of the events. Get the dealer to write everything down for you. In both my cases the dealer hung himself. The factory had to pay the bill. I'm tell'n you this looked bleak in the beginning. I've always told my kids when they where over whelmed, to look at the problem like eating an elephant, one bite at a time.

That's awesome man, goes to show regular folks can get results from big companies and the BBB is doing its job.

Congrats!

Back in the 1980's, I took GM to the BBB over a failed tranny (at 50k miles!) in a BUick Regal I owned. I won 50% of the replacement costs from GM through a BBB arbitrator. If you have a legit problem, the BBB is a good group to work with.

I just talked to a buddy who had a turbo go out on his '01. He has the Banks Power pack and Ford said that was the cause. He contacted Banks to see if the were going to pony up the cash for the repairs, who in return contacted Mathews Ford ( who was doing the repairs ). They went back and forth for a little bit. It ended with Ford eating the labor and parts bill because Banks provided info that their kit will not hurt the stock turbo.

Seems like all you have to do to prove the mods didn't cause or contribute to the failure is contact the manufacturer of the mod and have them stuff it in the dealers face. And you gotta love the BBB!
PS nice win ramsmoker

Talking Warranty

Hey Stomper, I got an e-mail today from a guy at diesel talk forum who has a Banks stinger kit on his. He had some oil pressure problems and took it in. They found mass end play in the crank. They also asked him for $8000.00. Man, this makes my $800.00 look like chicken feed. Keep me posted. I'm gunna walk with this guy all the way. Being retired has its advantages
