powerstroke wont start
i have an 01 7.3 and i was drivin the other day and it just died on me out of nowhere so i pulled over and tried startin it but she wouldnt go, it will crank all day but wont fire. i tried a new cam position sensor but that didnt do it. anybody have any ideas.

do you have a wait to start light, does the tach move when your cranking?

this happened to me in my 06 it was HPOP o-ring that they replaced

yeah i have a wait to start light and the tach does wiggle a little bit

Check oil in HPOP? Check oil in engine? It might surprise you.

i havent checked oil in hpop but the engine oil was good two weeks ago i will check again though

Pull the FF lid and see if there is fuel in the fuel bowl. If you do then open the water drain and attach a hose to the end of the drain tube and turn the key to on, you should have a good solid stream of fuel coming out. What condition are the batteries? The engine must spin at 250 rpm, IIRC, in order to fire, so they can crank but not fast enough to fire. Also verify that the UVC harnesses are both connected and no burnt or loose connections inside them.

check both batterys, one side was shot and would crank forever on my sons truck, put new battery in starts like new.

thanks for all the suggestions guys but i do know fuel is gettin to the fuel filter, and it started five minutes before it died so i dont think its the batteries but what is a UVC harness?

UVC-Under valve cover wiring harness, it controls the injectors.
