02 7.3 that keeps turn off.

well it started cutting off on me about 2 months ago. Id wait 30 min and it would turn on like brand new. well i took it in and got the recalled cps sensor replaced from the ford house. it did it more after i got it back so back in it went. They drove iit 80 miles with no problem and said it could be the chip. well another month went by no problems. when all of a sudden it started dieing again. pulled the chip on the side of the road and it did nothing. waited 2 hrs for it to start. when it did it started like new. now another guy has my truck and he cant get it to die. I love that truck but this needs to end. that guy thinks it could be the computer. Another thing the ford house said that they could not pull the coades b/c of the chip??? but A hand held computer at my shop could. whats the deal with that. Please any help would be awesome. thanks

We just had our shop service truck doing the same thing, after hours of changing parts we tapped pretty hard on the IDM and it would act up. Changed the IDM and it runs fine. This one was a 97' F350 what year is yours?

Post says it's a 02. I might take it to another shop, they should still be able to read the codes. What codes did you have? Next time it won't start I want you to remove the fuel filter lid and see if you have fuel in the fuel bowl, then open the drain valve and see if you get a good steady pressurized stream of fuel when the key is turned on. Also check the UVC harnesses on both sides.

well i reckon if the fuel pressure wasnt steady then it would start bogging down or hesitating. My truck just cuts off. thye guy who has it says that the codes pulled were the injector pressure controlled sensor and some other injector part. one was 270 and the other was 150 just for the sensor and the guy wasnt sure if that would fix it for some reason. thanks
