Need help with electrical problem

2000 f250 7.3 . Once I put my key in and turn it on and wait to start sometimes it takes a second but before I even turn the key to start my starter engages and keeps engaging even if truck is running . Only way to get it to stop is by taking the ignition (small wire ) on solonoid off. Has new starter , ignition switch , and solonoid , any ideas what it is or I can check ?? Thanks !!

I would think maybe you've got something going on with the Ign sw. When it's working OK, take the two sm wires off the solenoid and, with a meter, see what you got in them (power or ground) both normally and when the key is held to the Start position.

Then, next time this happens and you take the wire off to stop the starter from cranking, see how it compares to what you found earlier. This should tell you if the switch or the solenoid is at fault...

Ok I will check that , I also forgot that when I turn my headlights on one is dim and the other is really bright and truck will also shut off when it rains ? Don't know if this could help narrow it down . Lol or it's just numerous different problems .
