Exclamation Chip install issues

Hey, I'm new to this so please forgive my ignorance. I purchased a chip from an aquantince that told me it was a Bully Dog 75HP chip for a 99-03 7.3. I installed it on my E99 350 and when installed the "water in fuel" and "WTS" lights flash 2-3 times a second and the truck will not start...it will crank but no fire. When I remove the chip the truck starts and runs fine. I do not have the keys in the ignition when messing with the PCM. I did clean the contacts well. There is a code on my chip "M1F7" which i was told was the "catch code". Do I have a bad chip or am I missing something?

read the number on the chip and do some research, my guess its for a later model truck.
these chips dont usually just interchange chips.

bully dog sucks anyways, there is much better chips out there.

Yeah I did some research on that catch code is apparently is for a 96 powerstroke that came out of an e series van. clearly not going to work on my rig I've decided I'm just going to send my PCM to DP and get there 80 horse flash done.

i would rethink the 80 hp tune from DP.
i would get a php phoenix 6 pos chip from php for 300 bucks.

that tune is not highly recommended, you can do research and find out why.

i dont want to turn this thread into a pissing match.
