Exclamation Chip install issues

Hey, I'm new to this so please forgive my ignorance. I purchased a chip from an aquantince that told me it was a Bully Dog 75HP chip for a 99-03 7.3. I installed it on my E99 350 and when installed the "water in fuel" and "WTS" lights flash 2-3 times a second and the truck will not start...it will crank but no fire. When I remove the chip the truck starts and runs fine. I do not have the keys in the ignition when messing with the PCM. I did clean the contacts well. There is a code on my chip "M1F7" which i was told was the "catch code". Do I have a bad chip or am I missing something?

read the number on the chip and do some research, my guess its for a later model truck.
these chips dont usually just interchange chips.

bully dog sucks anyways, there is much better chips out there.

Yeah I did some research on that catch code is apparently is for a 96 powerstroke that came out of an e series van. clearly not going to work on my rig I've decided I'm just going to send my PCM to DP and get there 80 horse flash done.

I just put in a Ts 6 chip....had to do it twice cause apparently I thought connectors were good but had to re do....threw it back in and all good....but yes there are plenty of good chips out there do some research and depends on type of driving and performance

i would rethink the 80 hp tune from DP.
i would get a php phoenix 6 pos chip from php for 300 bucks.

that tune is not highly recommended, you can do research and find out why.

i dont want to turn this thread into a pissing match.
