99 7.3 Fuel Leak
Hi all,
I have a 99 7.3 diesel. I replaced the fuel filter and noticed a leak right away(front passenger side) and a little rough idoling. After reading many forums I figured out it had to be the seals in the release valve on the back of the bowl. I replaced the whole valve. Drove to work and as soon as I got to work diesel was coming out of the front passenger again. Looks to me like the over flow tube but I could be wrong. Does any one have any ideas for me???? Any help would be great.

Did you put the o-ring on the lid the right way?
Make sure the leak is not coming from the lid. |

Is the drain valve for the fuel bowl closed all the way? If the motor is running ruff after a fuel filter change or it ran out of fuel once it gets started again hold the RPM's at 1800 right away for a couple of minutes untill the lines get bleed out.

2005F250 and POWERSTROKER1---- Yes the valve is closed all the way. There is no leak coming from the bowl or valve at all.
Is there a way for diesel fuel to mix with the antifreeze on a diesel? I ask becuase I leaked some antifreeze out of the cap and it smells of diesel pretty bad. |
