Not to revive a very old thread..but Huge thanks to this forum. My wife got home last night with the Excursion running real rough, said the check engine light came on. First instinct was the CPS was about to go, so I swapped in the new one I had in the glove box. (It had never been replaced with 145K on it). Well no change. Got the code P1316. Pulled the driverside valve cover off (that back bolt is a PITA) and found the connector was loose (****ed to one side). Didnt get a new one (probably should soon as it was 11PM), just plugged it back together. Fired it back up and runs great again.

AGAIN. Huge Thanks to this forum.

Are both sides prone to this problem? or just the driverside? Should I replace both next time?

I am so glad I found this. I have the same problem and it sounds like this will fix it. So is there another plug on the other side (pasenger) Do I need to get new valve covers as well?
