Help! Fuel filters being blown up!
I hope someone can help me with this. In January a new IPR valve was installed at a local garage and the truck ran well until three weeks ago when my son serviced it. The ususal oil and filter, air filter and fuel filter. Immediately after changing the fuel filter the o-ring got blown right out of the fuel filter. A second new filter did the same thing in a few more miles. These were both NAPA. At the sight of the second breakdown was an Auto Zone where he purchased their fuel filter. The transfer furel pump also died at this time. He installed the Auto Zone filter and fuel pump and the truck ran fine for three weeks and about 400 miles until today when the fuel filter again was pushed off it's mount by excessive pressure. Don't know where to look as I am not familiar at all with this diesel and he is 50 miles away. Can anybody help with this? Thank you, Tom

Start with the simple stuff first as I haven't seen to many plugged return lines. The O ring has a bevel to it, if this is pointing up and inward the lid won't seal, or it may but not for long. I have also seen these plastic lids get warped. There are some that make billet lids but they are $$$ Check the above and get back with us.
