My overdrive light quit working about 10k ago...... possible wires might have rubbed in the shifter??? Could the light have burnt out?? can you pop the end off of the shifter and take a look??? Just wondering.... would like to fix this, because I know this light sends you signals if the transmission is sick.
Wow... the day I post a problem, is the day I have issues. Started the truck up, fine... must have a loose wire or something grounding out. Replaced the 10amp #19 that contols the instrument cluster, and overdrive. Now truck won't go into overdrive. This fuse has burnt out 3 times now... but each other time, it would go into overdrive, even though the light was off.... probably have a bare wire... ne thing?? 2001 250 7.3
Yep.... O/D wires became cut... got a new shifter handle for about $55 .. works good again.
