Tranny Help
Hey guys,
I went to change my oil today and instead of draining the oil I drained the tranny fluid. It was an honest mistake so I went n got some tranny fluid and put about 12 qts in it. When I moved my truck from the driveway to the street, I got out of my truck and there was tranny fluid coming out of the overflow valve. I drained about 3qts of it. Does anyone know how much fluid the tranny pan hold? Its a 2001 Ford F250 7.3 powerstroke.

I wanna say 8or 9 would have put you back in the hash marks. Im sitting here tryin to remember how many qts the converter holds. ( I keep thinkin 8 but that sounds a lil high. My memory sucks lately.)

Do you have your manual.? It will tell you exactly.
Also add a little at a time and keep checking the dipstick as you go along for future reference. |
