Don't have time to explain too much but when you have a vac. leak it will do what you are describing. It may be the vac. lines running to the front hubs. Check 'em out. The defrost only is a sign that a leak exists...usually.

I changed my electric vaccum pump because my HVAC system was only blowing out of the defrost vents. Well, the electric vacuum pump won't even come on. Anyone know if there is a fuse that is just for this pump. I checked the wires and they are not chaffed or anything. Is there a relay or solenoid that controls power to the electric vacuum pump. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to know the same, I have the same problem, only my signal switches and overhead console display stopped working together just before the vacuum pump stopped receiving power. And it's NOT a fuse under the steering column.
