Today high rpms.

I have a manny and when I put the truck in Neutral the rpms usually drop to about a 700 Idle speed, and today when I through it in neutral the truck stayed at 2000 rpms i tried to put it back in gear and take it out again but it stayed at 2000 rpms, it didnt quit until I after the redlight and acted normal again. anybody have any clue whats going on? or what went on?

my truck has done that too, but only when I'm rolling forward and put it in nuteral. When I come to a stop the rpms come down, then I put it in reverse to back into my drive way.
