Loud fan noise and no a/c

So I was driving along yesterday and when i left from a red light i could hear the engine fan like i've never heard it before. It sounds like im driving a peter built with the a/c on full blast. So i decided to try the air conditioning since i had my windows down. I turned it on and i got nothing but outside air. The fan gets really loud around 1500 and 2000 rpms but will go away if im in that range for a little while. I checked my coolant level was a little low so i put some in and it didnt change anything. If anybody knows about this please help me out. Thanks.

I had the same problem, my friend suggested changing the water tank cap, I don't know why but after I replaced the cap everything was back to normal. I was told that the caps are junk from ford and can burn up a motor without the driver knowing.
