Glow plug relay

Several months back I had a relay go bad. Changed it and all was well. At the time that it went bad I had the Diablo sport tuner in it. I took it out during the winter months though. Then I reinstalled it about a week ago. I go out this morning and now my relay is bad again. I have read that the GPR works through the PCM. I plan on monitoring the relay tomorrow and see how long it stays on. The coil on the old relay was fine, but contacts would not close. My first one was a borg warner and the one I bought today is a Standard. Both are quality companies. So my question be, could the tuner be affecting the GPR in any way.
