will start and idle, but no throttle response when pedal depressed???

THE TRUCK STARTS FINE, IDLES FINE BUT THE TACH AND ALL OTHER GAUGES NOT WORKING. ALSO WHEN I PRESS THE PEDAL, NO RESPONSE AT ALL- NO INCREASE IN RPMS, NO SOUND, AND MOST IMPORTANT NO MOTION. WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY TRUCK??????????

Try checking all of your fuses.

its probably a ground connection under the hood on the wiring harness sounds stupid but my did that, and there is a ground under the plastic pannel on the passenger side,

yeah sounds electrical, follow the wiring harness. Bad connection or ground like 87 powerstroke said.

This happened to me last night....a pop, then; gauges dead, and good idle...no acceleration? I let it idle back out of road and began looking in manual...there was an * beside #45 (ignition) the * was drawn there in blue ink? checked it...it was blown...replaced and it's fine! Now I wonder what caused it?
any ideas?

Sounds to me like the sensor on the throttle is bad. Check your fuses and if they are all okay, probably going to have to replace the throttle pedal assembly.

Check the fuse for the gauge panel and the alternate PCM or whatever. I've got a problem with mine, it keeps blowing that fuse, when that fuse goes it does the exact same thing you are describing. Im about to start a thread about my problem.

Lets see....wrong....wrong....and wrong..... guess agian!!!....

replace your shift lever or at least tape up the wires for the OD button that are frayed that come out of the shift lever and rub through the insilation right next to the hazard light button under the steering column cover

When I swapped a PSD into a formerly 460 powered truck it did exactly this, The problem was a broken wire between the pedal and the engine harness, theres only a few wires, checkem out.

just recently i was having that same problem, would idle but no throttle response. ended up being my IDM went dying on me. have your computer scanned.
