Trans. Problem!!! HELPP!!

So after going to pismo beah this weekend my trans. has been getting very hott after driving for a bit, I changed the oil and filter in it, now today when driving I was leaving an intersection when I got the green light and when I started too drive it just acted as if the trans went into neutral. I took it through some gears, nothing. it will rev up in gear as easily as if it were in neutral. After I slowed to a stop I noticed that when in gear if I rev it up it barely moves forward, the same with reverse. any ideas??
I'm praying its the tourque converter....
thanks-

It sound like you may have a large leak somewhere(?). What color is the fluid? Is it full of fluid? Was there friction material/metal in the pan when you changed fluid and filter?

Yes there was some metal in the bottomof the pan, it was minimal and no chunks. its full of fluid, brand new fluid in fact. and its completely sealed no leaks what so ever.
