quite a few problems
ok I got a few problems
1 the fuel guage is always full 2 the headlights are dim sometimes when I turn them on, sometimes not, to fix this I pop the hood and go to turn the socket and with a little turn it goes bright. 3 when I'm waiting for the truck to warm up in the morning and I turn on the lghts after about 20 seconds the cluster gets brighter. 4 when I reprogram the ecu with the edge evo on extreme the power in reverse sucks, like won't even back up a small hill. I figured it was the pump going out. Today I read about a similar problem on the board and decided to clear it back to stock, and reverse was back to normal. I gave up on the 4x4 electric motor problem and I just engage the transfercase with a crescent wrench. Obviously there is some wiring issues. Any ideas, suggestions, comments are greatly appreciated |

Second all your wiring problems sound like your missing a ground somewhere. About the fuel gauge? Bad news you'll probably have to drop the tank and put in a new sending unit. |

i plan on ditching it as soon as i get some extra funds.
oh i forgot to add that i get a mysterious abs light every once in a while that will go off when i restart the truck. it has been coming on more frequently. also what is the "best" setting on the edge for economy, race tow or extreme? and i drive like a grandma Last edited by san-d-eggo; 03-12-2008 at 04:07 AM. |

the lights are due to the alternator charging up the batteries you just jolted with that small brush starter! on another note how about the price of diesel guys

To fix your fuel gauge. Try smacking on the sides of your tank with a 2X4. Beat it up good, just be careful and don't poke a hole in it. The float has been known to hang up on something and tell you you are full.

ok i have the abs and the headlights dimming problems figured out.
the abs was low on power steering fluid. causing the light to come on i pulled the headlights and the plastic connector from the factory look looks almost melted. so i need to do some wiring on those and put new pigtails on them. i'll try beating up the gas tank. |

I had the fuel level thing once. Luckly it went back to normal. On the light thing mine was doing the samething for a while then the alternator went out. Put a new one on and it doesn't do it anymore.
