can someone help me
my truck starts in the morning idles runs like new i drive it about 5-6 miles down the road it starts losing power shakes spits and sputters will not get out of its own way put it in park it idles like its on 4 cylinders i shut the truck off wait 5min and truck runs like there was never a problem but 5-6 miles it starts all over again

had that prob once on my 97 7.3 and there was a sensor that was getting hot, cant recall what sensor i have it in my maint book at our shop. But it did the samething yours is doing. But who knows what it might be though.

Have you tried reading any codes? Check the oil level also.

Have you tried putting your spare CPS (cam position sensor) in yet?

code reader says no faults and oils always good i installed drivers side retainer clip on uvc but not pass side will do tomorrow but the help was appreciated

Do you know someone who has AE or a mt2500 diag setup? Watching the data stream will tell you what it wrong. If you don't drive the truck, and just let it idle, does it start screwing up? If not, sounds like a possible electrical connector.

Mine did this too. The IPR sensor kept going out on it due to bad wiring harness.
