starter with its own mind!!!

i was washing my truck and rinsing salt out from under the truck, cant have the salt eating my truck lol
It then started to crank over all by it self with the key off. It finally stopped but the other day i had it on a trailer and was out east in a snow storm and when i got to my destination the batts were dead. so now i think it starter to crank agian and ran the batts dead. im replacing the starter today but was wondeing if anyone has any ideas or things i should look in to also
Thanks

Just make sure your wires aren't groung out on your starter solenoid. sounds like that's what happened.

if it happens again try tapping the solenoid and see if it stops. If is does then that is def what it is.
