no speedometer,

Hello Everyone.
I have an 03 f250 7.3 Speedometer stopped working and od light blinks.Seems to shift ok. Ocassionally it starts working for a while.

I Changed speed sensor on rear and on left side of transmission. No difference. Any one Help

Does it start working if you stop at a light or turn the engine off and back on right after you notice the problem? Have you checked for codes? I have heard of a short at the base of the steering colume just under the dash that also causes this problem with 2 wires (green and yellow?) that rub the insulation off from the steering colume rubbing on them or pinched in the bracket.

Thanks for the reply monsterred.
I just brought truck to dealer, and they got a p0733 code ,incorrect ratio. which means 3rd gear slipping. they want to take tranny out. dosn't seem to be slipping to me. I'll try your suggestions and see what happens. Thanks!
