autolocking hubs
k my auto locking hubs dont work, i just bought the truck and i imagine it hasnt been locked in a few years because the front d shaft wasnt in and it had center caps covering the locking hubs, well i put the d shaft in and took the center caps off and i couldnt turn the manual hubs i had to get pliers and rotate it, do yall think if i took apart the hubs and cleaned it the auto locking would work? and if that doesnt work where do i start looking for problems

Usually when the autolocking is not working, it is because of a vaccuum leak. The autolocking hubs use vaccuum from the vaccuum pump to operate them. So if cleaning them does not work then I suggest you start testing the vaccuum system for the hubs. It maybe the seal in the hub itself has gone bad. That is what I found with my truck.
