P1316 help

I know there are several threads on this but still hopefully someone will help me. I have 2002 7.3. It started with a p1316 code. I took it to a local shop and they sound #6 needed replaced all the valve cover gasket and the injector module. I replaced everything but I still am getting a p1316 code and a vibration at 1300 rpm in overdrive. I don't notice it much when on the gas. I have about 250 miles with rev-x and i am only getting about 9 mpg. I hope there are something's I can do before taking it to a shop.

You replaced the IDM, #6 injector, and both valvecover gaskets?

All the 1316 is doing is, telling you the IDM sees a problem and needs a Buzz Test to be performed so it can further resolve the specific trouble code. Can you perform a buzz test with what you're reading the code with?

If so, see what code(s) are there after to narrow down what's causing it.

If not, you've already replaced the most common items (IDM & Gaskets) you really need to find out what the IDM sees as the reason for the 1316...

Both gaskets but not the plugs. My reader won't do the buzz test. Are there inexpensive readers that will do it?

Plugs won't cause the 1316 though. While not cheap, you're really never going to get more Bang-for-the-Buck than the $350 it costs for the AutoEnginuity...

What did the trip to the dealership, for their analysis, cost?
