So yesterday I was towing a 16ft trailer loaded with about 3-4000lbs. I started getting a vibration and loss of power! I pulled over, turned off the truck checked the oil, all was good. I started back up and rode home no problem. Now today I'm driving with the trailer empty and it's wayy worse I vibration is getting worse, and I can't go much over 50mph. What's going on with this? here is a video maybe it will help.
I thought the same thing. Seems like possibly a driveline vibration but increases as soon as he gets on it a little so I would agree with engine. But even if it is driveline his inability to get over 50mph is an issue. Some of our tractor trailers at work vibrate like this when the injectors are going out. I'm pretty positive this is an injector issue the more I watch the video. A buzz test or cyl cont. is in order I'd say
I can't see the video because i'm at work, but possibly a u-joint for the u-joint if it's only while driving. I had it happen to me a few years back where it would vibrate real bad while driving and was told when I took it in that I just about lost my driveshaft it was so bad.
This is similar to what mine was doing except once I got over 55-60 the vibration went away. I replaced the ICP a month or so ago, it helped. Vibration got worse last week and rough idle developed, I replaced the IPR yesterday and it's 100% better but still has a slight vibration but power feels almost like normal. Now, I have not pulled a load yet but it does feel like power has been 90%+ restored. I think I still have an injector problem. May just be O rings but with 452k miles I think I will replace all injectors with stage ones and custom tunes.
I did purchase a scan gauge ii to help me determine both ICP and IPR were failing.
Good Luck!
