Jump Starting

Hey, I think my battery's dead, I'm wondering how to charge my Excursion. My dad has a 6.0 and I think you can only jump diesel-diesel and + to + and - to frame. Correct?

Thanks,
Brent

If your batterys are dead and you run your truck with them like that, you take a chance of buring up your alternator.

Sorry, let me rephrase "batteries", but you risk that chance with any car if the battery dies (burning up the alternator)

I really just need it to run and then stop it so I can check it for any drains, and if it's got a drain then I'll figure it out, if it needs new batts, then I'll buy them. Speaking of batteries, which ones to buy?

You can go + to + and - to - as well. the other vehicle doesnt have to be a diesel either. just as long as its not something small
