Busted sway bar bracket

So I keep hearing this thumping noise when I hit the brakes at slower speeds. Well I got under my truck today to see were I was going to be putting all my wiring for my guages and I notice one of my sway bar brackets broke. It broke one of the mounting tabs off. I guess the bottom bolt rattle out and it just broke. Anyways I can't find one at at autoparts stores. Anybody have any ideas were I can get one or have a part number for one. I hate junkyard stuff cause its just that... junk.

Also under the hood of my truck on the drivers side right next to the fire wall there are 3 wires that go to nothing. They come out of the main wiring harness. They are red blue and yellow. What do those go to?

I know Napa carries a kit for the end links of the sway bar that is $23 and it comes with all the bushings, washers, nuts, and bolts except for the two bottom bolts. They also carry the replacement sway bar bushings which are like $10 for the kit of two of them for the 1 1/4" sway bar. As far as the two bolts that go to the sway bar and the replacement bracket . . . that is dealer or junk yard only from my experience. The bolts you could get from local hardware store but the bracket is dealer or scrapyard.

As far as the wires go . . . do you have a factory 7-pole trailer harness in the rear? or is yours a 4-pole?

ur lucky ur bracket broke. on mine, the thing that the brakcet bolts to is BENT. so i always have that thump cuz theres like a half inch of play in the bushing, i would try to bend it back but i dont wanna break it cuz its welded to the diff. anyway, not hijacking, just saying....u caught a break. i betcha them wires are for trailer brakes. maybe an old system or something.

the paper around the wires says customer access wires. as far as the sway bar. I get a thump every time I hit a bump. Another thing I noticed yesterday was it looks like the front section of the frame was welded to the back section at the firewall. Is that normal or was this thing wrecked?

I got tired of replacing the stupid link . The one that goes from the frame to the sway bar , where the most noise comes from right at the sway bar connection
Took the sway bar completely off like in the old days.
The truck rides way better ..much smoother and no more noise.
Been running it this way for 6 months with no adverse effects.

The wires from my understanding are for a brake controller. I have them too. I just leave them be they are not hurting nothing.

As for your bracket and sway bar. Yes there are autopart stores that carry the sway bar kits.

Hey Quick, are you talking about the front swaybar link ends? I need to rebuild/replace mine now. Those sealed pieces don't last long after the seal goes and mine is going. They aren't real noisy yet but it wont be long. I ask my bud and he replaced his from Ford dealer parts. He said they were over $100. I hope to avoid that if possible.
