Only when it rains

I have a 2003 7.3 and when it rains or has been raining my truck will stall out and sometimes shut off. When this happens it will throw the codes of the cam sensor and an IDM code. I look at all the wiring and connections they all stay dry and are tight. Any thoughts would be great.

Sounds like water getting in somewhere it aint supposed to.

I think I have the same problem, but I've narrowed it down to it only surges and dies when I have the wipers on. I've changed my cps and it still does it.

What year is yours? Maybe if you have any warranty left you ought to get it checked out? These problems can be tough to pinpoint. We fought one for years in my sisters Tempo. Took it to several dealers and garages but could never figure why it would just quit, then after a few minutes it would run fine again for maybe a few minutes or a couple of months before doing it again. Finally ford did a service bulletin on it and a recall. The garage replaced the computer module and the car was perfect after that. Ford even reinbursed her for some of the money she spent trying to find the problem.

Nope, no warranty. A mechanic friend of mine said he's heard about this problem and he's gonna research it a bit and see if he finds out anything. But until then, it's a real pain in the ***. And to add to it, my tranny's going out.

ya it could be only when the wipers are on, ill give it a try if it ever dries out, its worth a shot.
