Water in Fuel Light Wont Start

The light comes on truck dies and will not restart I try to empty fuel bowl this does not make any difference. I wait a couple hours and go back to try starting it and the light is gone and truck starts right up runs great? Any ideas?
Mechanic drained tank and found no water in fuel nor in fuel bowl. This is the third time I have had this same problem
