Ford recall on 1996-2002 F-250's, 350's, ...

I read on Yahoo news that Ford is recalling a bunch of vehicles because of faulty speed control deactivation switches.

Here's the link:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060803/...ford_recall_dc

I gotta see if my truck is affected.

Checked mine on ford.com:

Currently, there are no listed recalls for your vehicle.

Mine said the same thing, but I know for a fact that is actually IS under recall. It may take them a while to update on the site.

The 00-02 Ex's are in as well. I think in general, any Ford SUV/truck with the cruise control switch mounted at an angle on the master cylender, may have a problem.

This was in USATODAY online today. Looks like PSD are not included in the recall.

"The recall involves vehicles fueled by gasoline or natural gas and equipped with cruise control, including the 1994-2002 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 F-Super Duty trucks, 2000-2002 Excursion SUVs, 1994-1996 Econoline vans and 1996-2002 E-450 vans, and 1998 Explorers and Mountaineers. The recall does not involve similar vehicles fueled by diesel."

That's just what USATODAY had on it. Wouldn't hurt to give it a closer look though.

dont get all excited. This isnt a new recall, they just expanded it to cover more trucks. First things first is there have been no fires on any vehicles that were not an f-150/expedition. The recall doesnt cover diesel motors either. It is the eight suppliment to an ongoing recall, the largest ever, and only about .5% of the vehicles being recalled even have a leaking pressure switch....

Exactly, All It Is Is The Brake Pressure Switch May Leak.
You Get A New Switch And A Ugly Jumper Harness... But It Is Only On Gas Burners Right Now...
