02 F250-automatic shifter "jerky"
I have a 2002 F250 4x4 automatic. It WAS hard to get out of park with out pressing the brake pretty hard and wiggling it. NOW after my "mechanic" was working on my HPOP, I get it back and it's really jerky, and won't fully engage in park at times, and sometimes won't start unless I put it in Neutral. Is there "parts" in the steering column he could have broken forcing it out of park? He is no longer my mechanic, so I'm fixing it myself, since I had to end up doing my HPOP myself anyway! I am guessing I will need an interlock switch, anyway. Just worried about the hard parts.
Thanks

Check the bolts on the bottom of the column. They come loose or fall out. I had the same problem of not starting unless in neutral. Tightened those bolts and fixed the problem.
