Normal poppet wear during a HPOP rebuild?

Background info: I had a fuel gasket blow out, fixed that. Then the fuel pump went out, fixed that. Figured it was the Fuel Pressure Regulator that needed to be cleaned up - took that apart. Decided to redo the fuel bowl o-rings while I was at it.

Noticed that the HPOP was leaking so needed to redo the seals on it. When I was getting ready to re-install the poppet check valve and spring into the HPOP I saw fresh aluminum inside the HPOP, but I am not sure if this is normal wear or not. HELP!

Please see attached pictures.

This is a zoomed in picture of the 'abnormal' looking wear.
