Switch inside steering column

2003 7.3 supercab

When I open my drivers door the dome light doesn't come on unless I wiggle the steering wheel side to side. Also with the key on and the door open if you wiggle the wheel the dash lights up the door ajar light and the buzzer goes off. I'm guessing its a loose switch in the steering column. Anyone have an idea how to fix it?

you probably need a new clockspring but I am just guessing.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Everytime i open my door at night i have to reach in and turn the steering wheel a little to get the dome lights and door ajar etc.. to activate. Then ill hear a click and everything will go off and ill have to turn the wheel again for the dome light to come back on. This is with the door open.

I searched clockspring threads and didnt see anyone else like this in those threads.
