Key Out--Fan/Radio stay on

2001 F250 PSD 7.3

Intermittent problem--When I park the truck, turn off the engine, take the key out of the ignition, sometimes the radio and fan stay on as well as the door chime when I exit.

Where do I start to look for the offending connection/fuse or other component that might cause this issue. Again it only happens intermittently, but almost drained the battery last time as the fan stayed on for nearly two days.

Was there an answer?

Maintain,

Was there an answer in your post? If there was, it got deleted and all I got was specs on your truck.

He didn't offer an answer, he was bumping it up to the top of the page for you.

As for your problem, I think it "might" be the door sensor. The same sensor that turns your dome light on or off. My g/f owns an Escape and her radio stays on until you open the door after the car is in the off position. The sensor could be faulty or it could just not be making a connection when the door opens or shuts. This is all purely speculation though.

Thanks

natestage3gt,

Thanks first of all for the forum "bumping" info.

I'll try to do a search on the door sensor to see if it needs replaced, lubricated or beat with a big hammer!!!
